Emergent Signal is an exploration of the invisible world of shortwave radio. Descend into an ocean of static and noise to discover strange electromagnetic phenomena and signal fragments of unknown origin. What transmissions will reach you, where do they originate and what do they mean?

The mimetic properties of noise and the signals that emerge from them hold cultural, psychological, and artistic importance that push Emergent Signal in a particular aesthetic direction rooted in noise. This idea of noise is not that of unwanted sound but that of an aesthetic - the embodied physicality of heavy noise and noise music are explored through this piece through the eerie content of what lies in the sonified ether.
